Fund proceeds will be used to support undergraduate and graduate students in the Cato College of Education. Dr. Misty Cowan-Hathcock is the Director of the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program in the Cato College of Education and the former Director of the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program. Misty began her journey at UNC Charlotte in 1981 and has achieved five degrees from the university. Misty and
her mother, Linda Humble M.Ed. '77, C.A.S. '78, are dedicated supporters of UNC Charlotte. Both Misty and Linda are distinguished educators and members of the UNC Charlotte Alumni Hall of Fame. Misty is also a recipient of the Alumni Association's Bonnie E. Cone Lifetime Achievement Award.

- Masters, Doctoral, Certificate
- College GPA = 3.50-4.00
- Recipient must be a legacy student as defined by the Alumni Association of UNC Charlotte. Any student who has at least one parent, step-parent, grandparent, or sibling who is an alumnus/a of UNC Charlotte (undergraduate or graduate program) is considered to be a legacy student
